Distance from Modeled Surface to Imaris Surfaces

Published: 01 Oct 2017 · Last updated: 05 Mar 2021

This program isolates a surface from an image an then creates a model that fits the surface shape. First the signal is from the surface is isolated using thresholds on intensity and also XYZ dimensions. Second, the matlab function "fit" is used to create polynomial formula for the model. The model is then made into an Imaris Surface Object. Third, a distance algorithm is used to find the distance from the model to another Imaris Object. This application can be used to find the distance of cells from a membrane surface.
